This masjid, located about 300m south-west of Masjid-e-Nabwi is called Masjid Ghamama. It is built in the exact location where the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) performed the Eid salah throughout the last years of his life. This masjid is usually known as Masjid Eid. According with a reports the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) performed the Eid salah here over the past four a lot of his life. This can be the location the place that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) performed Salatul Istisqa (its own salah for invocation of rain). The word Ghamama means clouds which suddenly appeared and brought rain as soon as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) had performed the prayer. According for some reports, this is also the location (or near this area) the spot that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) performed the Janaza (funeral) prayer of Najashi, the Emperor of Aksum in Abbyssinia (Ethiopia). Najashi, although like a Christian, had welcomed the sets of Muslims who had migrated to his country as a way to escape the persecution with the Quraysh and then on accepted Islam. When however he died, there is nobody to steer the funeral prayers and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) prayed his Janazah salah, really the only time ever he managed it in the absence on the actual body. Although there's a Masjid here, there is absolutely no five times salah performed due to the proximity with Masjid-e-Nabwi.
